About The PositionRegional Sales Manager – responsible for achieving sales targets and developing the California, Arizona, and Nevada territory. The role focuses on maximizing and growing market share through relationship‑building with existing and new customers.
Key Deliverables- Communicate with new and existing customers to develop relationships and determine their needs.
- Prepare the proper documentation for sales and special request estimates, and quote prices based on sales guidelines and margins.
- Provide customers with technical support for all equipment purchased from Astec.
- Deliver accurate sales reports monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Meet and exceed top line and profit sales targets as defined annually for the territory.
- Manage sales budget for the assigned territory or region.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and order backlog targets.
- Establish and manage sales account relationships within the assigned territory.
- Establish and qualify new leads using marketing materials, product portfolio, and trade shows.
- Develop professional relationships with customers in person, over the phone, and electronically.
- Learn about new products and industry trends.
- Provide concise on‑time sales reports.
- Understand heavy equipment markets and product lines for both Peterson Pacific and competitors.
- Persuade customers to assist in generating, negotiating, and closing sales.
- Operate equipment to demonstrate for customers or train customer personnel.
- Instruct customers in proper equipment operation and basic maintenance.
- Travel within the region 80% local, 20% overnight.
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales.
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
- Adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
- Wear personal protective equipment per training guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness in the designated workspace by practicing 6S principles.
- Report defective materials, equipment, or questionable conditions to the supervisor/manager.
- Attend the weekly department safety meeting.
Travel
:
Approximately 80% local territory travel and 20% overnight travel.
All responsibilities and qualifications are in alignment with the role of a Mid‑Senior level, Full‑time Regional Sales Manager in the Sales and Business Development function within the Machinery Manufacturing industry.
