Overview

The Bilingual Victim Advocate/Case Manager works as part of the victim advocacy team to provide direct victim advocacy and case management to child victims of abuse and their non-offending family members.
Kids FIRST is an Accredited Children's Advocacy Center and has been serving Lane County since 1994. Our team is dynamic and includes therapists, medical providers, forensic interviewers and other professionals, all under one roof. Responsibilities- Provide immediate crisis intervention to victims in person and via phone; provide emotional support during the investigation and prosecution process
- Assess victim s needs and refer victims and their families to appropriate community services for assistance
- Act as an advocate for victims to ensure their needs are addressed within the community and criminal justice system; conferring with law enforcement officials and prosecutors on the status of cases
- Communicate in a compassionate, unbiased, trauma-informed manner, even under pressure
- Create and maintain accurate case logs, documenting ongoing case activities
- Provide educational information and outreach for community and partner organizations
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree or equivalent work experience required
- Fluency in both English and Spanish required
- A valid Oregon driver s license
- Knowledge and experience working within the child abuse, victim services, and/or criminal justice space strongly preferred

This is an onsite position, based in an office setting, and may require travel and occasional work from other sites.
