This position reports to the Downtown Campus Manager.
Job DescriptionSupport Staff provide an important role in the transitions program by modeling positive behaviors, training other team members, and assisting the supervisor in overseeing projects such as periodic deep cleanings of participant areas. In the absence of administrative staff, Support Staff also processes EBT payments and assists participants with account concerns.
Job Responsibilities- Monitor common areas and individual housing units to ensure safety, security and cleanliness of the facility
- Provide support services to program participants as assigned
- Ensure the safety and security of the Transitional Housing Program throughout the overnight shift
- Coordinate intra‑agency collaboration and communication
- Provide departmental and team support
- Perform overnight shift duties, including weekends, at the Downtown Campus
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- May work nights, weekends and holidays depending on assigned shift
- Knowledge of general safety procedures
- Dependable and responsive to available on‑call hours
- Preferred experience in a social advocacy role
- High school equivalency
- Minimum of 1 year as a Sponsors Support Staff (day shift) and be in good standing
- or 3 years’ experience providing direct support services in a social services agency
- Candidates without Sponsors experience may substitute 1 year of direct support experience with certifications or higher education in addiction counseling, human services, or mental health field
- Shared common office desk or workstation and office equipment
- Multi‑building campus with participant housing and common areas
- Occasionally work in refrigerated or freezer area to store and retrieve food items
- Shift assignment may require overnight facility oversight and participant interactions
- May encounter individuals experiencing distress
- Walking up and down stairs
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Walking and standing indoors and outdoors in changing climates
- Ability to carry up to 25 lbs. up and down stairs
