Manager Duty

Under general supervision, the Manager on Duty (Parks) assists with the overall operation of Softball World or Parks at Texas Star, and manages operations in the absence Athletic Manager and/or Athletic Coordinator.

• Supervises concession stand staff, umpires, maintenance staff, league and/or tournament staff/operation, volunteers and/or community service workers, assists in training and development of part-time staff, and completes discipline and/or incident report forms as needed, disciplines participants in accordance with policy guidelines.
• Meets and communicates with general public and participants, answers inquiries via telephone, email and in-person, and ensures a high level of customer satisfaction and service.
• Manages protest, communication with participants and/or patrons and overall safety of patrons while on duty.
• Supervises the collection, recording and depositing of league and/or tournament fees collected on site and of daily sales in concession operation.
• Manages part-time staff assignments, field preparation and conducts routine safety checks around facility.
• Responsible for securing facility at the end of each business day to include locking all doors, activating alarm system, clearing all persons and/or vehicles from parking lot, securing all gates to operation and making sure all field lights, scoreboards and necessary equipment is turned off.
• Operates general office equipment to include computer and cash register, completes all necessary daily reports on operation, and reports maintenance issues to supervisor daily.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instruction.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends and maintain regular attendance.

High school diploma or equivalent is plus six (6) months of experience in customer service or related field is required. Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Must be 21 years of age. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record.

Frequent sitting, walking, standing, bending, stooping, lifting and reaching are required. Repetitive movement of wrist and fingers during computer data input is required. Maintains static posture during sitting. 50-100% computer use. Occasional lifting loads up to 35 lbs.; carrying 35 lbs. up to 50 feet; pushing/pulling 35 lbs.; gripping/rotating hand tools; stair/step climbing; working in outside temperatures including excess heat, cold, and precipitation.
