As a Nurse Manager of Pediatric Surgery, you will have oversight of Pediatric Cardiac Noninvasive Vascular Lab, Pediatric Cath Lab, and Pediatric CT Surgery Staff. You will be responsible for all department functions in support of the hospital mission, vision and facility goals. The Nurse Manager is an RN and accepts responsibility for critical thinking decisions within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
Responsibilities- Create department‑specific initiatives and process improvement.
- Integrate collaborative practice and working relationships with all members of the healthcare team.
- Accept responsibility for management of multiple levels of personnel (including supervisory positions), payroll, budget, capital, business plan, and physician relationships including recruitment endeavors.
- Serve as liaison for hospital, community and other institutions.
- Organize and supervise human and material resources.
- Evaluate quality of perioperative practices in relation to established professional and legal standards.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to facilitate the delivery of patient care.
- Bachelor of Nursing degree required.
- Master’s in nursing or related degree preferred.
- Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license.
- AHA or ARC BLS provider required.
- CNOR required within one year of hire/transfer or promotion or specialty certification.
- Nurse Leader Certification preferred.
- Ten years of Operating Room experience with five years of perioperative nursing management experience.
- Demonstrate knowledge of financial implications of materials, equipment, and human resources.
