About the RoleAs a Material Handling/Lift Truck Service Technician, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our customers’ equipment operates at peak performance. In this hands-on position, you’ll be responsible for scheduled inspections, routine maintenance, and minor repairs across a range of equipment. We’re looking for someone who can deliver high-quality service with skill, efficiency, and a customer-first attitude. Teamwork is essential—you’ll collaborate across departments to ensure every customer receives timely, professional support.
Responsibilities:- Troubleshoot and perform complex repairs in the shop or field, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as schedule dictates.
- Complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Open lines of communication with the service manager.
- Experience with the following is a plus:
Curtis Controller;
Narrow Aisle;
Class 1 through 5;
Warehouse Products;
Cold Storage;
Pneumatic / Cushion Tired Trucks;
Electric Stand-Up Rider;
Electric Sit-Down Trucks;
Pneumatic Tire Diesel & LP;
Order Pickers;
Reach Trucks;
Stackers;
Pallet Trucks.
- 2-3 year minimum of shop/field heavy equipment trouble shooting and repair. Technical Certifications or Associate’s Degree.
- Must have strong understanding of mechanical and electrical theories and principles.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills needed for daily reporting.
- Must have good computer literacy skills for email, work orders and beyond.
- Ability to work within set time parameters, multi-task, and follow procedures.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and a certain degree of independent judgment.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships and professionally manage difficult situations.
- Must be able to obtain a forklift license.
- Must furnish tools suitable for Heavy Equipment repair.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to maneuver around/crawl under equipment in order to conduct repairs.
- Ability to work safely in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to properly lift and handle heavy loads up to 55 lbs.
- Ability to diagnose and trouble-shoot equipment visibly and audibly.
