General Farmworkers

Help repair and maintain farm equipment, shop, fields & levees. Craw fishing involves putting out traps, manually cutting up of fish bait, baiting of traps & emptying traps with a push boat, weighing, tagging, and washing crawfish, loading trucks and delivering crawfish to market. Traps are removed from the fields after season, clean equipment & workshop, repair broken traps to prepare for next season.

Frequent stooping & bending; lifting requirement of 40 lbs., repetitive movements, push & pulling, standing & walking and working outside in inclement weather conditions. The workers may be offered but not required to work more than 7 hours per day and/or the sabbath depending upon the conditions at the worksite, weather, and maturity of the crop. Housing provided on the premises at no cost.

All tools, supplies & equipment are provided at no cost. Employees may make above hourly wage and or receive bonuses based on work performance and experience, may be subject to random drug screen paid by employer upon hire or if suspicions arise--this is a drug free work zone. Transportation & subsistence expenses to the worksite will be paid by the employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract.

Must have legal authority to work within the United States.

• Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers may prepare their own meals. Employer will provide (on a voluntary basis) transportation to assure workers have access to stores where they can purchase groceries.

• The employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation to groups of H-2A or U.S. workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved to and from the place of employment.
