American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift hospital position requiring a CA RN license and at least 1 year of L&D experience.

• Labor and Delivery unit caring for a high-risk OB, culturally diverse patient population
• RNs circulate on cesarean sections
• Approximately 20 patient visits per day with 11-15 rooms/beds and an average daily census of 15-20
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
• Floating required to meet facility needs, with travelers given priority to float within their scope of practice
• Epic EMR experience required

• Active CA RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP (AWHONN Intermediate preferred)
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs and use of infusion pumps/drips/IV monitoring
• Experience with labor and delivery management including assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries
• Experience circulating for C-sections and recovering C-section patients
• Skilled in sterile vaginal exams and fetal monitoring (external and internal)
• Experience administering medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Experience with postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum care and breastfeeding support
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within the last 3 years required
• Must provide response regarding any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem)

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care within a high-risk OB unit
• Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, hemorrhage/shock response, and neonatal care in the delivery room
• Support antepartum care including NSTs, OCTs, and triage of obstetrical patients
• Participate in newborn care tasks such as APGAR scoring, cord care, and discharge teaching
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must be outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Travelers must be willing to float between sister facilities as needed
• Scrub and dress code requirements apply per facility policy
