American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a CA RN license and at least 1 year of recent L&D experience.

• Labor and Delivery unit caring for a high-risk, culturally diverse OB patient population
• Average daily census of 15-20 patients with 11 of 15 rooms/beds typically in use
• Day shift schedule working 4x12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
• Floating required to meet facility needs, with travelers prioritized to float within their scope
• RNs circulate on cesarean sections and assist with high-risk deliveries

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with labor and delivery management, fetal monitoring, and high-risk delivery support
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum phases
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, vaginal and cesarean births, and newborn care immediately after delivery
• Support antepartum procedures including NSTs, sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage
• Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as part of patient care
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
