Night Shift RNs – Med/Surg - Adults/Peds Unit
Location: Mercy Hospital Washington
Schedule: Part-Time | 24 hrs/week
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Welcome to our high-energy, fast-paced 30-bed Medical/Surgical Unit . We care for a diverse patient population, focusing on:
- Orthopedic procedures: knees, hips, shoulders
- General surgeries: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resections
- Specialized care: bariatric surgery, sepsis, pancreatitis, and stable pneumothorax
With a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 , you’ll be supported by highly skilled Patient Care Associates to ensure safe and compassionate care delivery.
Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a Registered Nurse, you will:
- Utilize the nursing process to provide exceptional patient care.
- Maintain professional accountability for the care of assigned patients.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers.
- Coordinate patient care with other departments.
- Uphold patient rights and confidentiality.
Education & Licensure:
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Active RN license (state-specific or compact)
- Must meet all state board of nursing requirements
Certifications
Required:
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BLS – Basic Life Support (or within 30 days of hire)
- Any unit-specific certifications (with timeline for completion)
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged standing/walking throughout shift
- Ability to bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed
