Adjunct Faculty:
Welding (Greeley)

Join us Lawrence County Community College to teach welding and cutting processes in a supportive, student‑centered environment. This position requires strong technical expertise, a commitment to safety and student success, and a collaborative approach to program development.

Compensation: $1,297.00–$3,753.00 per credit hour. Payment may be adjusted for low enrollment or part‑time teaching. Part‑time faculty may receive benefits based on hours worked.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction on a wide variety of welding and cutting processes in accordance with industry standards and department practices.
  • Supervise students to ensure the safe and proper use of the facility, equipment, and supplies.
  • Evaluate student work and assign grades.
  • Assist in the basic maintenance and repair of welding program equipment.
  • Participate in professional development and training activities to improve instructional excellence.
  • Assist full‑time faculty with program and curriculum review, revision, development, and assessment of learning.
  • Utilize effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate continuous commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
  • Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration.
  • Work as a team member with a genuine spirit of cooperation and flexibility.
  • Be self‑directed and self‑motivated.
  • Participate in advisory committee meetings and activities as required.
  • Assist in developing quality relationships with business, industry, and community members.
  • Implement department, division, and institutional goals as assigned.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to embrace the College’s mission, purpose, vision, philosophy, and commitment to diversity.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Welding Department Chair or Academic Dean.
Qualifications
  • Expertise in welding and cutting processes: OAW, OFC, PAC, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, soldering, brazing, thermal gouging, structural and pipe welding.
  • Demonstrated welding ability required for interview and verification through applicable weld tests.
  • WEL 1000:
    Associate degree or higher OR 2000 hours experience managing an industrial safety program OR relevant industry safety certification.
  • WEL 1001, 1003, 1010, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2024, 2030, 2031, 2050, 2089:
    Associate degree or higher and 4000 hours of verifiable occupation welding experience outside teaching; must possess demonstrable expertise in automotive and structural welding processes.
  • WEL 1075–1077, 2075–2077 (Special Topics in Welding I–VI):
    Meet WEL 1000 and 4000‑hour experience requirements; demonstrate expertise in advanced welding processes and methodologies.
  • Relevant industry certifications (AWS, ASME, API, AWWA) or equivalent portfolio of work may be used to demonstrate expertise.
