The City of Evanston is accepting applications for a Water Treatment Plant Operator. This position is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the water treatment plant and related infrastructure.

Minimum qualifications- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Wyoming for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
- Possession of a Wyoming Level I Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification.
- Knowledge of water treatment principles, operations, materials, and equipment.
- Knowledge of chemistry, mathematics, and biology.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
- Skill in the interpretation of plans, maps, and specifications.
- Skill in the operation and maintenance of mechanical and electronic equipment.
- Skill in planning, organization, and decision making.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee frequently lifts light and heavy objects, climbs ladder, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, distinguishes between shades of color, and utilizes the sense of smell. The work is typically performed at water treatment facilities and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather.
The employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, machinery with moving parts, contagion of infectious diseases, and irritating chemicals.
