Landscape Architect – Evansville, IN
We’re looking to add an experienced Landscape Architect to our Evansville, IN office. We want someone excited about the possibilities ahead as we grow. - Coordinate with architects, project managers, and engineers to understand project parameters and develop a creative design per the Company’s design process.
- Coordinate the arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures.
- Prepare cost estimates of landscape design.
- Prepare graphic representations of plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software. Knowledge of Revit is a plus.
- Prepare construction documents, including site plans and specifications, for bidding purposes.
- Provide master planning and direction for complex design work for current or expansion development.
- Review and ensure all plans meet applicable code requirements.
- Coordinate and plan planting projects.
- Select appropriate landscaping materials and plants that are sustainable and appropriate for the specified area.
- Analyze environmental reports on land conditions, including drainage and energy use.
- Perform site observations during construction to document landscape project progress and ensure adherence to plans.
- Apply knowledge of master planning activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Seek new work through marketing activities or by giving presentations.
- Professional and positive attitude.
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture; a Master of Landscape Architecture is preferred.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in landscape architecture and design, including construction-related expertise.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of landscape architecture and design, including construction, technical design, and construction techniques.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, planning, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
- Knowledge of site analysis, layout, grading and drainage, irrigation, traffic and parking, building, and landscaping, including specifications, designs, and cost estimates.
- Licensure is not required but preferred.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and citizens.
- Ability to organize and carry out higher-level landscape design projects and programs.
- Ability to present results in oral, written, and design drawing formats.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Excels at problem-solving, has analytical skills, and seeks to improve their skills continuously.
- Self-motivated and able to work on multiple projects at one time.
- Able to work as part of a team without direct daily supervision.
- Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED/WELL AP (desired, but not required).
- Willingness to learn new processes and explore new concepts.
