The Kinesiology and Sport Department, in the Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education at the University of Southern Indiana, invites applications for a 9-month tenure track Assistant Professor Position beginning Fall 2027.

The Exercise Science Program is CAAHEP-CoAES accredited. Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching 12 credit hours per semester of undergraduate courses, advising students, providing academic service to the department, college, university, community, and profession, and engaging in scholarly activities.

Earned doctorate in Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or Closely-Related Content Discipline (Interdisciplinary Health Sciences with Emphasis in Cardiovascular and Exercise Science, Motor Control/Learning, or Motor Behavior). ABD candidates are encouraged to apply; however, the degree must be conferred prior to the start date in August 2027.

Prior undergraduate/graduate teaching experience, advising or mentoring undergraduate students.

The Kinesiology and Sport department is housed in the Screaming Eagles Complex which includes the Human Performance Lab, Instructional Performance Center, Biomechanics Lab, and Faculty Research Lab. Additionally, the over 5,000 sq ft space includes a DEXA machine, Bod Pod, Alter G Anti-gravity treadmill, Anatomage table, metabolic cart, wireless EMGs, 2D & 3D motion capture cameras, force plates, and a fully equipped teaching weight room.
