Traylor Bros., Inc. has an opening for a Field Engineer II at 835 North Congress Ave., Evansville, IN 47715. 40 hrs/wk. 9am - 5pm. M-F.
Responsibilities: Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and supervising construction projects by planning, organizing, and controlling day-to-day tasks;
Completes quality inspections;
Supervises sub-contractors and field engineers;
Provides guidance and develops project work plans using AutoCAD and 3 weeks look ahead schedules using excel, Microsoft project and or Primera P6 scheduling software;
Provides guidance and assists with interpreting engineering drawings;
Provides technical guidance to field superintendents, and craft personnel;
Reviews plans for accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with regulations;
Provides critical information about the status of a project and accurately estimate how it will finish from a cost and revenue perspective from where it started;
Work closely with Superintendents regarding project planning, field leadership, work plan development, submissions, and approvals;
Manages complex material supplies and drafts scopes of work for subcontractors;
Understands and promotes innovation for cost and schedule improvements;
Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, safety standards, and productivity goals;
Performs complex construction designs - SOE, Hydraulics, PLC, Marine, etc.; and Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or foreign degree equivalent, plus 12 months of experience as a Civil Engineer, and/or Civil Engineering Intern, and/or Civil Engineering Co-op, and/or Construction Technician in the construction industry. Experience must include:
Working in a team environment managing construction operations;
Working with complex software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup Bluebeam, Excel;
Read and interpret contract specifications and contract drawings;
Identify and analyze quantitative/qualitative take-off for construction materials and resources;
Working with engineering loads in construction projects; and Writing work plans within heavy civil construction projects.
