Mortgage Loan Originator

Liberty FCU, a full-service credit union, is currently seeking applicants to fill a Mortgage Loan Originator role at the Mt. Vernon office located at 405 E 4th Street, Mt Vernon, IN 47620. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, attention to detail and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The ability to initiate and develop outside business to drive loan volume is required.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Conduct loan interviews, discuss programs, explain processes, and request supporting documentation for loan approval.
• Evaluate credit and financial status of prospective borrowers to make sales of residential mortgage loans.
• Cross sell Credit Union products and services.
• Make outgoing calls to sell our products and services.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all credit union mortgage products including purchase money 1st mortgages, 1st mortgage refinances, 2nd mortgages, HELOCs, bridge loans, construction loans, and VA/USDA/FHA loans.
• Understand and apply all federal rules and regulations associated with mortgage lending.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with realtors.
• Attend purchase loan closings.
• Assist in fielding member calls associated with mortgage lending.
• Develop a working knowledge of the Credit Union's data processing system, loan origination system, Word, and Excel software.
• Maintain knowledge of available loan products, processing procedures and underwriting guidelines.
• Any other duties assigned by supervisor or management.
