About the Job

CenterPoint Energy is seeking a Production Supervisor to join our Production Team in Evansville, Indiana.

Essential Functions
  • Manage a union workforce and ensure employee work practices align with company policies and department objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with the Production Supervisor, shift employees, and relevant departments to address abnormal operating conditions.
  • Maintain a positive team environment and operate the plant safely and environmentally soundly to meet customer needs.
  • Solve operational problems safely and promptly using available resources.
  • Track derates and address issues causing derates or outages.
  • Optimize plant process efficiency and control production costs by monitoring the DCS system.
  • Enforce safety programs, policies, and practices.
  • Plan and manage employee scheduling.
  • Train employees on the job to develop their skills and ensure competency.
  • Ensure compliance with FERC protocols.
  • Assign and oversee timely completion of preventive maintenance work.
  • Work a 12-hour rotating shift, including overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • Collaborate independently with engineers, peers, and contractors to align production activities with plant project goals.
  • Qualifications
  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in power plant, industrial, or electric operations.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage union contracts and settle grievances.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to create procedural and instructional documents.
  • Effective communication skills for complex instructions and team coordination.
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and rotating shifts.
