Job Title:
Machinist
Operate basic CNC machines, including lathes and mills, to produce parts. Responsibilities include cleaning and inspecting completed parts to ensure they meet specifications.
Responsibilities- Edit 2D programming in machines.
- Set up machines with raw materials and secure materials for jobs.
- Set up tooling specific to job scope with assistance.
- Perform a dry run of the job to ensure machine accuracy.
- Read basic G-code and M-code to ensure machines operate according to programs.
- Constantly monitor machines to ensure the manufacture of accurate components per job specifications.
- Clean, debur, and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications.
- Use measuring devices and techniques to ensure proper sizing for each specific job.
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure parts are correct according to job scope.
- Record materials used throughout the process, including types and varieties.
- Record data throughout the process, including sizing and illustrations, to ensure proper job outcomes.
- Use various hand-held and stationary power and non-power tools as needed.
- CNC machining experience with mills and lathes.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Experience with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Experience in CNC setup and dry runs.
- Knowledge of G-code and M-code.
Skills & Qualifications
- CNC programming/editing experience.
- Formal education or degree in machining or machine tool technology.
- Experience operating cranes and forklifts.
- Experience with large machining.

Work EnvironmentWork in a very large job shop facility that is semi-climate controlled. The environment can become hot during summer and cool during winter. Shift available is 2nd shift (3:30PM - 2AM), and you will train on 1st (6AM-4:30PM). Employees are expected to wear shop attire, including steel toe boots and work pants. High-visibility shirts and other personal protective equipment, such as earplugs, safety glasses, gloves, and respirators, are provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Evansville, IN.
PAY UP TO $30+ AN HOUR
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr.
