Salary: $3150 / Week
The Progressive Care Unit RN, as a professional practitioner, assumes responsibility and accountability for delivering patient care to telemetry/progressive care patients. The Progressive Care Unit RN demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments effectively and efficiently with supervision. This individual employs critical thinking and performance skills in coordinating patient care, consistently performing according to nursing standards, and managing patient care while assisting others.
The Progressive Care Unit RN is also known as a step-down nurse, cardiac stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgical stepdown, or, in some centers, a transition or intermediate unit.
REQUIRED:
- 3 years RN experience
- 1 full year of stepdown experience
- 1 travel assignment
- Trauma level II experience
Experience:
Recent EPIC experience required
Patient Population:Cardiac (post cath stents/interventions, pacers), CIWA/BH, Sepsis, DKA, CVA, CPAP, feeding tubes, crani POD 2, GI bleeds, hypothermic/bear hugger.
Skillset:REQUIRED: Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers required to pass tele tests), initiate/titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, Insulin, etc.), post-surgical assessment/care, NIHSS/Neuro assessments/dysphagia screen.
PREFERRED: Stable home vents, Pleur
X drain/pericardial drains, lumbar drains, VP shunts, Narcan drips. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!
Hard worker, resilient, able to manage change well, social candidates preferred.
