Company Description
Encore Boston Harbor features 210,000 square‑feet of gaming space including more than 3,000 slot machines and 240 table games. Situated on the Mystic River in Everett, Massachusetts, and connected to Boston Harbor, Encore Boston Harbor boasts 671 spacious hotel rooms, a spa, salon and fitness center, specialty retail shops, 15 dining and lounge venues and more than 50,000 square feet of ballroom and meeting spaces.
The grounds feature a six‑acre Harborwalk with pedestrian and bicycle paths that provide access to the waterfront, an event lawn, public art and ornate floral displays. It is the largest private, single‑phase development in the history of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Hourly Pay: $36.21
Title: Encore Boston Harbor Poker Floor Person
Responsible for front‑line guest service in the poker area. Includes hosting, cashiering, assisting guests, and promoting poker play. Key responsibility is providing outstanding guest service and contributing to a positive guest experience.
Job Responsibilities- Adhere to Encore Boston Harbor core values and property/department standards.
- Participate in the execution of departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate operational effectiveness; effect changes required for improvement.
- Contribute to departmental performance; maintain accuracy, confidentiality and thoroughness of departmental policies and procedures; record and report.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and property‑wide controls.
- Deliver and maintain a maximum level of service.
- Contribute to company‑wide communication and best practices.
- Stay informed of all new developments within the department.
- Manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines, often in stressful, high‑pressure situations.
- Greet and welcome customers as they enter the Poker area.
- Maintain a change bank to provide services for guests, including making change and helping guests expedite transactions.
- Promote exemplary guest service by demonstrating full knowledge of games in play, special events/activities, casino promotions and operation information.
- Support close floor surveillance over assigned area to detect irregularities.
- Assist guest needs by communication with customer service, beverage, transportation, VIP, etc.
- Follow safety standards and work with safety priority.
- Maintain relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
- Perform any other job‑related duties as assigned.

Age, Gaming and Certifications- 21 years of age or above.
- Required to obtain and maintain registration or a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
- High school degree or equivalent required.
- Hospitality or casino experience preferred.
- Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Poker room as a dealer / dual rate.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are a plus.
- Willingness to work beyond the boundaries of an average work day.
- Ability to work with deadlines and disciplined to work without constant guidance and supervision.
- Positive “whatever it takes” attitude.
- Open mind and willingness to learn new processes, concepts and ways of approaching analysis.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries from employees or guests.
- Conversational English required.
- Ability to write instructions.
- Ability to effectively present information.
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to decipher and maintain reports.
- Regularly required to talk and hear, stand, walk, sit, handle objects, reach with hands and arms.
- Capable of lifting or maneuvering at least 50 pounds, standing/walking for extended periods.
- Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, adjust focus.
- Noise level typically moderate but increases to loud on casino floor or back‑of‑house areas.
- Ability to interact with guests professionally.
- Work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
- Reliable, consistent, punctual attendance required.
