Medical Technologist – Days – Everett

Job Type: Full time

Work Shift: Day

Hours/Week: 40.00

Up to $10,000 Sign on Bonus for ASCP certified Medical Technologists. Bonus based on experience & shift.

Job Purpose:

Performs and reports laboratory testing in a manner to promote the efficient operation of the laboratory and effective patient care. Will work as a Generalist at the CHA Everett Hospital Laboratory.

Responsibilities
  • Perform phlebotomy on both adult and pediatric patients.
  • Perform testing in Chemistry, Hematology and Transfusion Medicine.
  • Perform and evaluate Quality Controls.
  • Participate in Proficiency testing.
  • Troubleshoot basic instrument problems.
  • Receive and process a variety of laboratory specimens and utilize the Meditech computer system for data entry.
  • Perform both STAT and Routine testing in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist the manager in the development of new methods and evaluate cost feasibility as required.
  • Train new employees in department procedures and policies.
  • Participate in department meetings.
  • Work with fellow staff members to analyze workflow processes and conduct QI audits.
  • On‑call coverage responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • BS/MT required.
  • Registration/certification as MT (ASCP), MLS, AMT, or HEW required at time of hire.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in the English language.
