Responsibilities- Handle accounting matters for various commercial, retail and hospitality real‑estate assets.
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packages for each assigned property.
- Maintain accounting records for ownership entities holding real‑estate assets.
- Monitor compliance of ownership, debt and other agreements.
- Prepare annualized income and expense projections to assist Property Management and clients in cash flow management.
- Prepare and analyze periodic excess net cash flow distribution calculations.
- Record journal entries related to significant transactions such as acquisitions, dispositions and financings.
- Support the annual financial statement audit and preparation of tax returns.
- Assist in the preparation and review of annual budgets.
- Work with Property Management to prepare tenant reconciliation settlements and lease settlements.
- Input and set up new leases and lease renewals in property management software.
- Learn and grow from on‑the‑job coaching, mentoring and firm‑wide learning programs.
- Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and with clients.
- Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Three or more years of experience in commercial real estate or public accounting with exposure to commercial real estate.
- Preferred background in development/construction accounting.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office and Excel.
- Experience with MRI or Yardi.
- Excellent analytical, technical and problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, collaboration and time‑management skills.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; highly preferred.
The compensation range for this role is $78,000-$122,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
