Job OverviewAlta Group is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Residential Construction Estimator to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll be the crucial bridge between our clients’ vision and project execution—developing transparent, accurate, and competitive cost assessments for home renovation projects. Estimates will be derived from site visits, blueprint drawings, photos, and material take-offs. Key ResponsibilitiesReview project details and documentation provided by sales or design consultants.
Perform quantity take-offs from blueprints, specs, and site visits.
Gather material and labor pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
Build clear, itemized proposals with transparent cost breakdowns and allowances.
Maintain current pricing databases and vendor lists.
Review all takeoffs and assumptions for accuracy and consistency.
Flag unclear scopes, potential risks, or missing information early in the estimating process.
Update estimates and prepare change orders as project scope or selections evolve.
Communicate finalized estimates and proposal details with the internal project team.
Report estimate requests, findings, and deliverables to project management.
Qualifications- Required:
- 2+ years of construction estimating experience or relevant field background.
- Ability to read blueprints and perform detailed quantity take-offs.
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and codes.
- Proficiency in estimating software (preferably Buildertrend) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and time management.
- Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
- Preferred:
- Background in remodeling or specialty trades (flooring, tile, kitchens, bathrooms).
- Experience with proposal writing or client-facing estimate reviews.
- Construction Management education or certification is a plus.

ScheduleFull-Time — Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Workload includes 3–5 remodel estimates per week, adjusted by project size and complexity. Occasional early starts or extended hours may be necessary to meet deadlines.
LocationBased in Everett, WA with regular travel to job sites throughout Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Issaquah, and surrounding areas.
