Music Teacher and Chapel Coordinator Responsibilities:
Music:
Teach each class once per week for 30 minutes.
Create a music schedule and have it approved by the teachers and administrator.
Plan a Christmas (Mid December) and Spring (Early May) concert incorporating grades K-8.
Communicate with parents around concert time (time, location, special parts, dress code etc).
Communicate with Band teacher regarding concerts.
Chapel:
Plan chapel each week. This includes:
Choosing the songs
Preparing the slides for the song lyrics
Setting up keyboard and microphones for singing and guest speaker
Setting up projector and computer for slides
Leading the school in singing
Reach out to local pastors or speakers to come and speak during chapel
Find and introduce a theme song for the year
Plan chapels around different Holidays and time of year (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter)
Plan a Convocation Chapel for the first day of school – introduce theme song.
Plan and help execute Grandparents Day/Special Friends day chapel (typically day before Thanksgiving).
Band:
Teach one beginning band class and one advanced band class for students ages grades 5-8.
Help students, parents, onboarding with instruments and communication, etc.
Plan for two performances per year.
Must be a confessing member of a Bible-believing church. Position is approximately two mornings per week. We are open to a job sharing situation.
