The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and delivery of magni

X’s electric powertrain products. The Mechanical Engineer will evaluate requirements and use cases to create and iterate detailed CAD models of design options – including rotatives, structures, materials/lubrication selections, assembly processes, and test methods. Additionally, the Mechanical Engineer will be expected to support design documentation development and release, write technical reports, test requirements, and analyze test results.

• Apply aerospace standard design practices to electric aircraft motors and sub-components, including machined components, bearing selection/sizing, material selection, coatings, fasteners, lubricants, DFM.
• Conduct trade studies on design and manufacturing options, identify methods for risk reduction and technology development.
• Produce complete design packages – detailed drawings, analysis reports, BOMs, assembly instructions.
• Conduct reviews of designs, manufacturing plans, and test procedures to ensure compliance with design and performance requirements.
• Coordinate with other departments through hardware delivery and operations (Quality, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Testing, etc.).
• Lead resolution of technical problems, achieving buy‑in from cross‑functional teams.
• Develop a strong understanding of technical and certification requirements for Electric Propulsion Units for aviation.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Practical experience using 3D CAD (SOLIDWORKS) and PDM systems.

• Aviation propulsion systems experience preferred.
• Hardware delivery experience and sound technical knowledge of electric machine design is preferred.
• Strong understanding of GD&T: ASME Y14.5‑2009 & ASME Y14.100‑2013.
