Avtech Tyee is searching for a Quality Engineer 2 with regulated industry experience and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to help position our company for new growth and improved social responsibility. Project management skills would be a real plus!

Responsibilities- Lead, participate in, and close of First Article Inspections (FAIs), Non-conformance reports (NCRs), Corrective Actions Reports (CARs), Returned Material Authorizations (RMAs), and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Plan, execute, and oversee inspection and testing of products to verify conformance with specifications and deliverables.
- Assist operations team in tracking, documenting, and reporting quality levels for CSR (corporate social responsibility), environmental, and health and safety goals/KPIs.
- Investigate product reported quality issues to ensure closure in accordance with company guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
- Develop or update company inspection procedures to ensure capture, investigation, and proper documentation.
- Monitor risk-management procedures and use problem logs to identify and report recurring issues to management and product development teams.
- Provide training and support to quality assurance team members, focusing on systems, policies, procedures, and core processes.
- Actively participate in and lead internal and external audits.
- Ongoing self-development and personal growth as an employee.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in electronics and/or mechanical aerospace industry or other highly regulated industry highly preferred
- Demonstrated NADCAP, heat treatment experience would put you ahead of other candidates
- Experience meeting FAA and AS9100 compliance requirements highly preferred
- Experience as customer-facing Lead preferred
- Experience with ITC and JC and the impacts relative to Quality assurance
- Deep knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices, version-control procedures, and defect management processes
- Professional certification, such as Six Sigma, CQE (certified quality engineer), or CQA (certified quality auditor)
- Knowledge and experience in a professional business environment
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship skills
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
- Strong focus and attention to detail
- Time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task in a complex business environment
- Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
- Strong focus on customer service
- Ability to quickly master new business knowledge and technical skills
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization by DOH
The target wage/salary range for this role may be within $80k - $110k, depending on education and experience. We may look at a broader range for the right candidate.
