Nuclear fusion can address the scale of this problem, but for decades, existing fusion approaches have not proven a net positive energy gain. Zap Energy has rethought the fundamental technology of fusion. As the only company using sheared-flow-stabilized Z‑pinch, we present potentially the fastest path to commercially available fusion energy.

• Plasma Physics
• Applied Physics

Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Pulsed Power Systems
• High Voltage Instrumentation
• Computational Plasma Modeling
• Experimental Design and Data Analysis

Depending on your expertise, you may contribute to:

• Leading or supporting experimental campaigns on Z‑pinch fusion devices
• Designing and fielding plasma diagnostics (e.g., Thomson scattering, interferometry, spectroscopy, magnetics, neutronics)
• Analyzing experimental and computational data, including error propagation and interpretation
• Publishing and presenting scientific results
• Collaborating with engineering teams on system integration and experimental setups

• You have a strong foundation in plasma physics or related fields
• You’re excited by the challenge of developing fusion energy
• You’re a creative problem solver and effective communicator
• You thrive in collaborative, fast‑paced environments
