System Safety Analysis Engineer - Aerospace

System Safety Analysis (SSA) Engineer – role supports Boeing’s commercial aircraft programs (737, 767, 777, 787). Part of the Safety organization focusing on ensuring system safety, airworthiness, and regulatory compliance throughout the full program lifecycle.

Duration: 12+ months with possible extension

Pay: $75/hour on W2

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform system safety assessments (SSA) per ARP
    4761, including FHA, FTA, FMEA, and CMA.
  • Evaluate aircraft systems, identify hazards, quantify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support development of safety requirements following ARP
    4754A and integrate them into system designs.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and regulatory stakeholders (FAA/EASA) to ensure compliance with airworthiness standards.
  • Conduct and/or review safety‑related analyses, simulations, inspections, audits, and test results.
  • Develop and maintain safety documentation, hazard logs, and verification/validation records.
  • Support mission assurance activities, root‑cause investigations, and corrective action planning.
  • Ensure compliance with DO‑178C, DO‑254, and MIL‑STD‑882E where applicable.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations and EASA standards.
  • Expertise with ARP
    4754A, ARP
    4761, DO‑178C, DO‑254, and MIL‑STD‑882E.
  • Background in electrical systems, safety engineering, or reliability engineering.
  • Ability to work with cross‑functional technical teams and present findings to regulators/customers.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • OR Master’s with 3+ years.
  • OR PhD with relevant experience.
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field (ABET preferred).
