The planet urgently needs safe, reliable, zero-carbon energy without waste. Nuclear fusion can address the scale of this problem, but for decades, existing fusion approaches have not proven a net positive energy gain. Zap Energy has rethought the fundamental technology of fusion. As the only company using sheared-flow-stabilized Z-pinch, we present potentially the fastest path to commercially available fusion energy.

Areas of Expertise We’re Interested In

• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Applied Physics

Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Pulsed Power Systems
• High Voltage Electronics
• Capacitor Bank Design and Testing
• Electromagnetic Interference Mitigation
• Vacuum and Insulating Systems (e.g., SF6, polymers, ceramics)

Depending on your background and interests, you may contribute to:

• Designing and testing pulsed power components and systems (e.g., Marx generators, spark gap switches, capacitor banks)
• Developing mechanical assemblies for high-voltage fusion experiments
• Supporting fusion plasma diagnostics and data acquisition systems
• Collaborating on the design and operation of next-generation Z-pinch fusion devices
• Working with high-voltage safety protocols and lab testing procedures
