Are you a technology professional with a passion for data‑driven solutions and operational excellence? The Public Works Solid Waste Division is seeking a SCADA & Database Systems Administrator to join our dedicated team. This is a unique opportunity to combine your expertise in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems with strong database administration skills to support critical infrastructure and environmental compliance.

While direct SCADA experience is required, we understand that SCADA systems often overlap with other technical fields. If you have worked with industrial automation, process control, web development or instrumentation systems—and you bring strong database administration skills—we encourage you to apply. Experience in water or wastewater operations, or holding SCADA certification in those fields, is also highly valued. We provide additional training and support to help you deepen your SCADA expertise and succeed in this role.

What

You’ll Do
  • Manage and maintain SCADA systems to ensure accurate, real‑time monitoring and control of Solid Waste operations.
  • Administer and optimize databases for regulatory reporting, operational analytics, and cloud‑based applications.
  • Develop and maintain custom web applications and dashboards to improve data accessibility and decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with engineers, operators, and IT professionals to ensure system reliability and compliance with environmental standards.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience with SCADA platforms such as Rockwell Factory Talk View Studio and Historian.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems (Micro Logix/Control Logix).
  • Strong skills in SQL Server administration, SSRS reporting, database optimization, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with Win-911, ASP.NET, and C# programming.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders both verbally and in the development of SOPs.
