Patient Services Specialist – Per Diem ER
Join Swedish as a Patient Services Specialist in the Emergency Department on a per diem basis.
DescriptionEnsures that all demographic and insurance information is captured in a timely and accurate manner in our Medical Record system. Prepares and coordinates the distribution of patient information to nursing units and ancillary departments. Adheres to all compliance and regulatory requirements. Collects patient co-payments, pre-payments and payments due. Works side by side with the clinical team in the emergency room setting.
Responsibilities- Accurately capture patient demographic and insurance information.
- Coordinate the distribution of patient information to nursing units and ancillary departments.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Collect patient co-payments, pre-payments, and payments due.
- Collaborate with the clinical team in the ER setting.
- 1 year Customer Service or healthcare registration experience.
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS).
- Registrar and third‑party payor experience.
- Hospital patient access or billing, medical office receptionist, insurance office experience.
- Working knowledge of office equipment; printers and fax machines.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Data Entry skills.
