The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer to support Loadable Software Engineering team located in Seattle or Everett, Washington
. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Software Engineering organization.
The ideal candidate is passionate about creating and maintaining a secure operating environment across various cloud service providers. By leveraging automation technologies, you will help build and sustain infrastructure, computing systems, and applications through a robust Dev Sec Ops pipeline. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior Level Software Engineers.
Position Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes for COTS and custom-built applications
- Integrate Dev Sec Ops tools to automate security checks and vulnerability assessments within the CI/CD pipeline
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, security, operations, and product teams, to ensure security is embedded in all phases of the application lifecycle
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior Software Developers and Dev Sec Ops Engineers, promoting best practices in automation, security, and cloud operations
- Enhance operational security by implementing robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
- Participate in Agile SAFE ceremonies, providing input on security and automation best practices
- Strong understanding of networking and network security concepts
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CI/CD processes, security tools, and operational security
- Provide training and guidance to teams on CI/CD, Dev Sec Ops , and operational security best practices
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements through automated checks and controls
- Document and maintain CI/CD workflows, security protocols, and operational procedures
- 5 years of experience with Development Operations (Dev Ops)
- 5 years of experience with Git Lab, Dev Ops tools (ADO and/or AWS), and CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment
- 5 years of experience with cloud-platform technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
- 5 years of experience with networking basics (VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancers, DNS, etc.)
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- Level 3: 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level 4: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current certifications such as Azure Certified Dev Ops Engineer, CISSP, or Docker Certified Associate
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation)
- Experience with containerization and cloud orchestration tools (Tanzu, Open Shift, Kubernetes, Docker)
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Splunk, etc.)
- Experience in integrating security tools like SAST, DAST, and vulnerability scanners into CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), and automation tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible, Chef etc.)
- Experience with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST 800-53)
- Experience with network security and intrusion detection/prevention systems
- Experience with serverless architectures and associated security challenges
- Experience with scripting programming languages such as Python, Bash, or similar
