Mission DescriptionActs as authorized agent of the company, making financial commitments and managing key supplier relationships to ensure supply chain performance. Manages complex supplier accounts with advanced knowledge of commodities, supply base, and program requirements. Responsible for key suppliers, significant spend, and challenging supply chain problem resolution. Provides peer review and oversight to junior purchasing agents.
Responsibilities- Make daily purchases and enter data into the MRP system based on demand while analyzing quality, specifications, and delivery requirements.
- Ensure just‑in‑time supply aligns with loaded demand to maintain inventory targets.
- Send out quotations for bids on non‑contracted items and negotiate best price.
- Interface with planning and purchasing Integrated Program Team (IPT) to flow schedule or requirement changes to suppliers.
- Review purchase orders regularly and follow up on unconfirmed orders, past‑due items, etc.
- Generate effective communication and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, promoting courtesy, objectivity, and fairness.
- Act as primary contact to assigned suppliers, proactively manage them, and assess performance for on‑time delivery of quality products.
- Manage program shortages and ensure supplier commitments are met.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of supply chain/purchasing/sourcing experience.
- Strong written and verbal business communication skills.
- Self‑starter ability to drive improvement, meet timeliness, and achieve objectives.
- Ability to identify problems, collaborate with teams, and lead actions.
- Analytical skills to assess and communicate requirements.
- Negotiation, influence, and respectful relationship‑building abilities.
- Timely decision‑making and action orientation.
- Customer‑service orientation and stakeholder communication.
- MRP system experience.
- MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Previous experience supporting manufacturing or aerospace is preferred.
