General

Job Description

Dogwood Industries is seeking a hands‑on and detail‑oriented Production Planner to support the timely and accurate release of work orders and production routings across our manufacturing operations. This role is a key contributor to our centralized planning function and will work closely with the Master Planner Scheduler, ERP System Administrator, Design/Detailing, Procurement, and Production teams. The Production Planner will ensure that work orders are set up correctly in the ERP system, with accurate materials, routings, and documentation, enabling efficient execution on the shop floor.

This position is instrumental in bridging design release and production execution, contributing directly to Dogwood's operational efficiency and growth.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Create and release work orders in the ERP system based on project requirements and schedules
  • Apply predefined routing templates and verify alignment with production processes and capacity
  • Attach and verify supporting documentation (e.g., drawings, specifications, BOMs) to each work order
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Detailing, and Procurement to ensure materials and documentation are available and accurate before work order release
  • Maintain and update routings as needed to reflect current manufacturing practices
  • Support the Master Project Scheduler with data needed to maintain the project schedule
  • Conduct basic capacity checks when releasing work orders to prevent scheduling conflicts
  • Identify and resolve errors or missing data in work orders that could delay production
  • Cross‑train with team members to ensure redundancy and continuity of work order flow
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to streamline work order and planning processes
  • Provide planning‑related support to factory operations at both Sedro‑Woolley and Everett
  • Maintain ERP data accuracy related to routings, production steps, and material usage
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, production planning, or a related role
  • Proficiency working in an ERP/MRP system
  • Familiarity with production routings, BOMs, and manufacturing workflows
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage transactional data
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow standard work instructions
  • Comfortable working cross‑functionally with Design, Procurement, and Production teams
  • Basic understanding of capacity planning concepts is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and work within structured systems and processes
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to grow into more advanced planning responsibilities
Physical Requirements /Work Environment

This position requires light physical activity in an office environment. To perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly seated at a computer desk with the option to stand, is utilizing a phone frequently and participating in meetings with colleagues. There are steps in the office.

Compensation

$80,000 - $105,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
