The Manufacturing Technician I performs basic assembly tasks in a structured, team-oriented manufacturing environment where quality, accuracy, and safety are essential. The role supports the assembly of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components under close supervision, following established work instructions, diagrams, or blueprints. The technician follows defined procedures, seeks guidance regularly, and is expected to learn and develop foundational skills in aerospace assembly practices with direct supervision.

- Prepare and assemble all necessary parts and materials for electrical components, ensuring all items meet the specifications required for the assembly process.
- Verify the accuracy of kits and components before assembly, ensuring that all items are present and meet quality standards.
- Label and organize kits to ensure ease of access and proper tracking.
- Assemble mechanical, electrical, or electronic components according to technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
- Perform tasks such as torquing, grinding, wiring, fastening, and installing components into final product assemblies.
- Ensure that all parts are correctly aligned and securely attached during the assembly process.
- Use solvents safely, wear PPE appropriately, and learn to read MSDS sheets.
- Review manufacturing drawings, work order instructions, and customer specifications to determine part marking requirements.
- Set up and operate the part marking machine and apply permanent or temporary markings to parts with high accuracy.
- Handle part-marking chemicals (inks, cleaning solvents) following MSDS and safety guidelines.
- Inspect visually to verify the accuracy and legibility of markings.
- Read and interpret work orders, packing instructions, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
- Package parts and assemblies using appropriate materials to prevent damage during handling and transit.
- Ensure packaging complies with customer-specific packaging standards.
- Inspect parts for cleanliness or visible damage before packaging and labeling.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred (not required).
- Ability to perform tasks with guidance and support.
- Capable of learning and retaining basic operational tasks with minimal re‑training.
- Willing to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Follows quality standards to produce consistent, reliable products.
- Recognizes, counts, and sorts parts by size and shape accurately.
- Uses basic measurement tools (weight and dimensional scales) with instruction.
- Basic computer skills preferred (Microsoft Office, email).
- Passes background check per customer guidelines and requirements.

- Interpret and apply labeling and documentation standards per customer and aerospace contract requirements.
- Follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
- Communicate with peers and leads to clarify instructions, raise issues, or report non‑conformance.
- Stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and talk or hear as required.
- Lift or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Perform bending, reaching, or working in awkward positions for short periods.
- Visual acuity required for reading drawings, inspecting parts, and working with small components under magnification if needed.
- Position based entirely on the manufacturing floor.
- Exposure to moderate to high noise levels, moving mechanical equipment, airborne particles, and temperature variations typical of a production setting.
- Stand for extended periods, lift or move materials, and operate or work near production machinery.
- Compliance with safety protocols and proper PPE required at all times in designated areas.
