Job Overview

Everett Ship Repair, a leading Pacific Northwest ship repair facility founded in 2019, is seeking an Experienced Machinist Supervisor to lead our machine shop team. The role involves direct supervision of journeymen and apprentices, ensuring safety, quality, and timely project delivery.

• Supervise and assign tasks to machinists, ensuring on-time completion and conflict resolution.
• Meet project objectives for cost, schedule, and quality, analyzing project status and progress.
• Oversee use of contingent labor and cross‑yard staffing with NBBB and subcontractors.
• Lead safety culture, conduct safety meetings, and enforce safe work practices.
• Coordinate with project managers and construction managers for staffing, materials, and scheduling.
• Provide accurate data to Sales and Estimating for bids and proposals.
• Plan staffing, coordinate regulatory compliance, and maintain tooling and equipment standards.
• Conduct toolbox meetings, inspect work, and enforce construction specifications.
• Review crew timecards, ensure accurate logging, and support weekly deadlines.
• Model company values, mentor apprentices, and foster a collaborative environment.
• Assist estimating department as needed and attend daily production meetings.
• Serve as a recognized leader in safety, quality, and productivity.
• Additional duties as required.

• Knowledge of marine repair, shipbuilding techniques, safety practices, and shipyard mathematics.
• Previous journeyman experience as a Machinist or Machinery Assembler.
• Leadership in apprenticeship programs, industry associations, or special projects.
• Proficiency in materials covered in Machinist RSI classes.
• Effective communication, team building, and presentation skills.
• Competence with personal computer, word processing, and spreadsheets.

• BA/BS or AA/AS with related experience or 8 years in shipbuilding/ship repair.
• Experience supervising a machine shop or similar trades.
• Proficiency with commercial shipbuilding software.
• Ability to read and interpret Microsoft Project schedules.
• Knowledge of ship construction, shipboard systems, and marine equipment.
