Process Technician
Department: Molding
Reports to: Shift Supervisor/Department Lead
Shift: Night
Base pay range: $28.00/yr - $32.00/yr
Position PurposeResponsible for injection mold changes, startup of new jobs, troubleshooting and resolving process problems, and optimizing machine cycles. Training will be on day shift.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform the startup and processing of jobs.
- Accountable for pulling and setting molds.
- Verify process parameters for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and maintain equipment to established criteria.
- Process, troubleshoot and remedy solutions that do not meet specifications, non‑conformities, and material issues.
- Responsible for ensuring that the end‑of‑run process clearances have correctly taken place.
- Robot set‑up at certain locations.
- Verify machines are operating according to standard cycles, allowable scrap, work instructions and quality plan.
- Ensure proper housekeeping.
- Responsible for following all established Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures and safety practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/general education degree (GED)
- 3 years plastic injection process technician experience or RJG Master Molder Certificate.
- Read and interpret documents, i.e. blueprints, drawings, operating instructions, work orders, and procedural manuals.
- Forklift and crane experience preferred and/or able to obtain certifications within 30 days.
- Math comprehension to add, subtract and multiply and divide whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read, speak, understand and follow instructions in English.
- Must be able to wear and properly use the required personal protective equipment.
Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e., US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR and EAR.
Environmental ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
