Summary:

Lead the introduction of new manufacturing technology to improve production efficiency and increase capacity and capability for new product introduction. Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinates manufacturing launch and cross-functional support for new or revised products and/or programs. Effectively uses resources to resolve problems, support special projects and improve processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform, identify, recommend, and lead projects for the introduction of new manufacturing technology that significantly enhances the manufacturing environment and meets customer expectations.
  • Lead detailed process analyses and implement changes to processes and procedures such as safety procedures, work methods, production processes and labor standards
  • Oversee production and maintenance manufacturing planning and sketches for detailed parts and assemblies.
  • Redesign or design tooling to support the manufacture of parts and assemblies.
  • Lead shop continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and daily management activities (Kata).
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing plans, drawings/sketches, new materials, bill of materials, costing and routing.
  • Perform design activities, test activities, troubleshoot problems, lead special projects, make MRB decisions, and support requests for quotes.
  • May, depend upon specific skills, participate in programing CNC machines such as lathes, mills, hobs, shapers, and gear grinders.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Education/

Experience:

Level IV:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent) from four-year college or university plus 10 years of work experience;
Master’s Degree (M.S) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent) and at least 8 years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrated aptitude with mechanisms and/or electronics.
  • Previous experience implementing new manufacturing technology.
  • Understanding complex assemblies of machined components and/or electrical equipment.
  • Prior work experience developing assembly processes to support manufacturing of parts & assemblies (preferred).
  • Experience writing and maintaining manufacturing planning for detailed parts, mechanical and electrical assemblies (preferred).
  • Experience in aviation, energy or similarly regulated industries (preferred).
