American Traveler is hiring an RN-PACU for a Level II Trauma Center, offering a 4x10 evening schedule and welcoming first-time travelers with at least 1 year of PACU experience.
Details- PACU unit within a Level II Trauma Center following ASPAN standards
- Patient population includes pediatric (1yr+), adult, and geriatric patients across same-day surgeries, in-patient admits, and observation cases
- Surgical specialties include vascular, general, orthopedic, pediatric, urology, gynecology, neuro/spine, podiatry, ophthalmology, thoracic, trauma, bariatric, ENT, oral, plastics, cardiovascular lab, and interventional radiology
- Shift schedule is 4x10 evenings, 10:30 AM-9:00 PM
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Floating required, including between sister facilities
- Uses Epic for charting
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Experience with pre/post-operative care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, and pain management
- Experience with conscious sedation, general, local, MAC, and nerve block anesthesia types preferred
- Experience obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG and pre/post cath lab or IR procedures preferred
- Experience with pacemaker insertion preferred
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Provide pre- and post-operative recovery care for a diverse surgical patient population
- Perform cardiac monitoring, pain assessment, medication reconciliation, and IV therapy as needed
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Scrubs of any color accepted except reddish orange
- Facility-paid parking provided
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are not accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius
- Former permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius
