As a Store Area Supervisor, you will oversee a specific assigned area of the Store, perform general operations, and supervise the Store while acting as Manager on Duty. You will open and close the Store, supervise Associates, maintain a friendly and easy‑to‑shop environment, ensure merchandise presentation, and keep the workplace clean.
Responsibilities- Ensure a safe and secure environment, including monitoring the sales floor, managing security of the building, testing fire alarms, and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Deliver excellent customer service: treat all customers, associates and leaders with respect; demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
- Represent and support the Ross brand; maintain a professional appearance and enforce the Dress Code.
- Manage general merchandising: recovery, sizing, markdowns, receiving merchandise, maintaining stockrooms, placing merchandise on the sales floor, and ensuring compliance with presentation guidelines.
- Prevent loss: comply with Loss Prevention Awareness Program, safeguard confidential information, maintain the Public View Monitor, and conduct package inspections.
- Supervise front‑end operations: manage the cash register, train associates on procedures, control break schedules, maintain equipment and supplies, and ensure speedy service.
- Maintain fitting rooms: keep them clean, audit garment tags, and manage go‑back compliance.
- Perform administrative duties assigned by the Store Manager: cash pulls, bank deposits, payroll administration, and scheduling compliance.

- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience (preferred).
- Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
- Basic mathematical calculation skills.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.
- Use store equipment including registers and PCs.
- Stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, and ladders.
- Stockroom shifts may require pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 20 lbs.
Retail Associates and Stockroom Leads (where applicable).
