Heavy Equipment Mechanic
SUMMARY
Service, repair and overhaul aircraft to ensure airworthiness. Works under minimal supervision.
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesGeneral
- Has intermediate knowledge of all areas of the aircraft and assigned work area. Repair, modify, replace, or otherwise perform routine aircraft maintenance work in specialized areas of aircraft.
- Develop repair schemes utilizing SRM or Engineering data. Conduct operational tests.
- Communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co‑workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise.
- Complete job assignments in a timely manner.
- Read and interpret manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repair, replacement, or modification.
- Responsible for accurately clocking to jobs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Flight Control Mechanic
- Remove and install flight control surfaces and components.
- Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures.
- Utilize OEM and Engineering drawings to modify structures and flight controls.
- Perform weight and balance including calculation of flight control surfaces.
- Perform rigging and operational test of all flight control surfaces including autopilot.
- Troubleshoot flight control systems.
- Commercial aviation or equivalent military aviation maintenance experience.
- A & P License preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two years of related commercial/military aircraft maintenance experience.
- Airframe or Airframe and Powerplant License preferred.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee will also be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to handle and climb ladders and aircraft stairs.
The base pay range for this position is $23.00 – $35.00 hourly/DOE, not including bonuses or benefits. Your pay will be based on your experience, skills, and education, as well as internal equity to ensure fairness across the team. Candidates closer to the lower end of the range are typically building their expertise, while those at the higher end bring significant experience and specialized knowledge.
This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
