Hourly Range: $38 - $45 / hr

Job

Overview

The Electrician installs, maintains and repairs electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation of Evergreen Goodwill facilities. This position works with a variety of electrical devices and systems, diagnoses problems, and ensures compliance with technical specifications, electrical codes, and safety standards.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical system or equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform calculations for load requirements and ensure proper operation of electrical systems.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing instruments.
  • Follow all safety procedures, electrical codes, and company policies.
  • Maintain records of work performed and assist with preventive maintenance schedules.
Education & Experience
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience in electrical work.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and code requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations
  • Washington State Electrician License preferred.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license with a clean record.
Computer/Technology Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) preferred.
  • Ability to use maintenance management or work order software.
Mental/Sensory Requirements
  • Analytical thinking and problem‑solving.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working on ladders or lifts.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and electrical hazards.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights when necessary.
