The Bilingual Family Case Manager role works with families to achieve stability and prevent future youth homelessness. They engage families in their homes and in the community to assess family strengths and needs and create goal plans to meet those needs. Internally referred to as Bilingual Family Advocate, this position supports family case management with a total caseload of 15 families, facilitates diversion seminars for parents and youth monthly, responds to community calls, collaborates with community partners, and works collaboratively across Cocoon House programs to ensure consistency of care for youth and families.

Schedule

& Compensation

Full‑time, 40 hrs/week, onsite. Wages: $24/hr DOE. Typical schedule 9am‑5pm with required evening flexibility two to three days each week and one weekend per month for family classes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide case management to 15 families and participate in family meetings with the Family Advocate.
  • Support youth in creating their own goals and collaborate with Family Advocates in family meetings.
  • Build relationships with community partners and gather community resources for families in Snohomish County.
Caregiver Classes and Seminars
  • Collaborate with coworkers and community partners to present strong diversion workshops to families.
  • Conduct monthly parenting classes throughout the year with the Prevention team.
Other Responsibilities
  • Provide low‑barrier support for families through phone calls and drop‑in services.
  • Provide referrals to other resources as needed.
  • Collect demographics and complete all data entry related to family case management and drop‑in sessions in a timely manner.
  • Support other Cocoon House programs to increase staff knowledge around family engagement and Prevention work.
  • Assist the Director of Family Engagement in training staff in best practices working with families.

Requirements – Skills
  • Strong and effective communication skills; proficiency in crisis intervention/de‑escalation.
  • Knowledge of issues facing young people, adolescent development, and strengths‑based approaches in working with families.
  • Individuals with lived experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Two years of experience working in human services field directly with parents or guardians of grade school, middle school, and/or high school youth.
  • Experience in facilitation required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Requirements – General
  • High school diploma/GED or high school equivalency
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • DCYF background clearance
  • Acceptable driver’s abstract with no more than 2 violations within last 3 years
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
Requirements – Physical
  • Effective communication with all internal and external clients.
  • Ability to hear voices and alarms.
  • Ability to read and comprehend a variety of materials.
  • Operate phone, computer, and record information for files and logs.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to run up and down indoor and outdoor stairwells in case of youth emergency.
