Coordinated Entry Navigator

Responsible for linking young adults, ages 18‑24, who are at risk for or experiencing homelessness to appropriate services and housing programs within Snohomish County. Based in the Young Adult Housing department, the Navigator performs case management and resource connection for young adults enrolled in the county’s Coordinated Entry (CE) system.

Core Responsibilities
  • Receive referrals from multiple sources and coordinate with navigator staff, ensuring a response within 48 hours.
  • Enrol young adults in the Coordinated Entry system and meet with them throughout Snohomish County.
  • Collaborate with Cocoon House programs, law enforcement, resource centers, schools, churches, and detention centers to identify and target youth who need services.
  • Case‑manage all young adults, connecting them to resources for emergent needs, community services, and housing; rapidly move workload to meet grant outputs.
  • Maintain a cooperative, discrimination‑free environment and uphold agency policies.
  • Collect and enter data to meet weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines; keep organized, complete files.
  • Attend internal and community meetings and trainings as required.
  • Ensure contract compliance for all activities.

Requirements

Skills and experience

  • One year of experience working with young adults experiencing homelessness or similar populations (preferred).
  • Effective communication and crisis de‑escalation skills.
  • Knowledge of issues facing young people, adolescent development, and strengths‑based approaches.
  • Commitment to serving and collaborating with individuals of all races, ages, genders, backgrounds, political opinions, and sexual orientations.
  • Individuals with lived experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

General qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • DCYF background clearance.
  • Acceptable driver’s abstract with no more than two violations in the last three years.
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

Physical requirements

  • Effective communication with all clients.
  • Ability to hear voices and alarms.
  • Read and comprehend a variety of materials.
  • Operate phone, computer, and record information for files and logs.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Run up and down indoor and outdoor stairwells as needed.
Compensation

Hourly wage: $21–$23 (DOE)

Additional Information

Full‑time, 40 hours per week, on site. Some evening flexibility may be required. Work weeks will not exceed 40 hours.
