English Tutor

Job responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality one-to-one and small-group English tuition to support student progress and attainment.
• Plan and deliver targeted intervention programmes tailored to individual learning needs.
• Monitor, assess and record student progress, adapting support to maximise outcomes.
• Support students preparing for internal assessments, GCSE examinations and other relevant qualifications.
• Work closely with English teachers and pastoral staff to identify and support students requiring additional intervention.

• Degree in English or a related subject, or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience of supporting young people and delivering targeted interventions in an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of effective English teaching, learning and tutoring strategies.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to students of varying abilities.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students, building confidence, resilience and independent learning skills.

Pay range: SCP
12-17 - £25,982.89 - £28,185.21 - FTE: £29,542.00 - £32,046.00 - 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
