Speech & Language Therapy Team Lead for Integrated Stroke ServiceThe closing date is 22 January 2026
This is a part time post, working 34 hours a week, would consider a minimum of 30 hours a week.
We are passionate about stroke and improving the quality of life for our stroke survivors. We are currently working towards implementing the National Model for Integrated Community Stroke Services. This is an exciting opportunity to significantly enhance our service.
You would lead our integrated Speech and Language Therapists to work flexibly between the community and inpatient stroke, offering development, supervision,some clinical input and developing this part of the service.

The ability to use your initiative, work proactively, demonstrate excellent communication and influencing skills, work within a team, manage and prioritise your own workload and respond flexibly to changing demands are essential requirements of the post.
Main duties of the jobDay to day you will lead the team of SLT stroke clinicians,prioritising the integrated stroke caseload and liaising in partnership withthe acute SLT team. You will be responsible for the clinical supervision,education and support of the SLT team and in liaison with the other Stroke Team Leads, help to strengthen and develop the stroke pathway.
There will be some clinical work expected in supporting the more complex caseload. Alongside your
SLT colleagues, you will be undertaking comprehensive assessments and treatment of stroke patients with speech, language, voice, fluency and/or swallowing disorders. You will formulate individual programmes of rehabilitation using clinical reasoning and utilise a range of treatment skills, targeting realistic and measurable, patient-led goals. It is also expected that you will offer support and education to carers/families and the wider team.

Job responsibilitiesTo lead and manage the stroke speech and language therapists that work with stroke patients within the community and inpatient stroke rehab unit.
Provide holistic assessment and evidence-based rehabilitation to stroke patients to enable them to achieve their best potential.
Contribute to the evidence-based development and evaluationof the SLT practice provided by the service.
To maintain accurate comprehensive and contemporaneous documentation/patient records in line with legal requirements and Trust guidelines including personally generated clinical assessments-treatment requiring computer skills.
To demonstrate a high level of SLT stroke skills and act asa source of expertise on stroke patients management.

Person Specification Experience- In-depth post-registration experience in the highly specialist area.
- Extensive experience of designing and delivering training to a wide range of professionals in the relevant service area.
- Expert in managing complex, diverse caseload independently and able to advise others.
- Extensive experience of collaborative work with cross professional groups.
- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree or equivalent
- Health Professions Council Licence to Practice
- Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapist
