As a Kitchen Helper, you’ll play an important role in ensuring patients, residents, and employees receive safe, nutritious, and well-prepared meals each day. • Assist with daily food preparation, including cleaning and cutting vegetables, preparing salads, desserts, fruits, beverages, snacks, and foods according to patient diet orders and required food consistencies.
• Help assemble and deliver patient meal trays and food carts, ensuring meals are prepared accurately and delivered to the appropriate patient/resident areas.
• Support cafeteria food service, including working at the steam table and assisting with serving meals.
• Maintain accurate patient census and diet order information to help ensure appropriate quantities are prepared and minimize food waste.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment; operate the commercial dishwashing machine and routinely clean kitchen appliances and work areas.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, confidentiality, hospital policies, and applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements while working cooperatively with the Dietary team.

Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes a drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
