Anybody can lay a bead. We’re looking for someone whose work can take a beating.
At Alpha Inc., our equipment works hard — excavators, dozers, backhoes, graders, loaders, haul trucks, rigs, and more. Keeping that iron moving takes a Welder who knows their craft, takes pride in doing the job right, and understands that a quality repair can make the difference between equipment getting back to work and a project grinding to a halt.
This isn’t a production-line welding job.
You’ll work in our facilities and out in the field, tackling repairs and fabrication on the heavy equipment and components our crews rely on every day. Some jobs will be straightforward. Others will require you to assess the problem, figure out the right repair, and execute it safely and correctly — sometimes in less-than-perfect conditions.
We’re looking for someone who brings skill without ego, respects the trade, looks out for the crew, and owns the quality of their work.
If that sounds like how you operate, keep reading.
About Alpha Inc.Founded and grown in Hawai?i, Alpha Inc. is a locally owned leader in heavy civil construction, renewable energy, concrete services, drilling, and infrastructure solutions.
We build and support projects that matter to Hawai?i’s communities, and we expect our people to bring craftsmanship, accountability, and pride to the work.
Three core values guide how we operate:
Leading with Heart — Work safely. Respect the people around you. Look out for your crew and leave the workplace better than you found it.
Strength in Unity — No lone wolves. We communicate, collaborate, and work as one team to get the job done.
Alpha Mentality — Take ownership. Solve problems. Keep learning. When something needs to get done, step up and make it happen.
For our Welder, those values show up in every repair, every inspection, every jobsite, and every piece of equipment you send back into service.
What You’ll DoAs a Welder at Alpha Inc., you’ll help keep our equipment, projects, and crews moving.
Put Your Craft to WorkTravel to Alpha project sites and perform welding and repair work as directed by the Heavy Equipment Manager.
Cut, join, fabricate, and repair metal components for heavy construction equipment, rigs, pipes, and other applications.
Perform welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
Read drawings, blueprints, and measurements to determine layouts and welding procedures.
Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment and use tools including angle grinders, clamps, saws, calipers, and related equipment.
Make Quality Non-NegotiableA weld isn’t finished just because it looks finished.
Inspect completed welds and surfaces for structural flaws and workmanship.
Use appropriate inspection and testing methods to help ensure repairs meet required quality standards.
Pay attention to fit-up, measurements, materials, and details before, during, and after the weld.
Take ownership of your work and address problems instead of passing them down the line.
Keep the Iron MovingOur equipment earns its keep in demanding environments. Your work helps make sure it stays there.
You may work on excavators, dozers, backhoes, graders, loaders, haul trucks, rigs, pipes, and other heavy equipment and components across Alpha’s operations.
You’ll need to be comfortable climbing on, working around, and getting underneath equipment when the job requires it.
Own Safety and Your Work AreaMaintain welding equipment and tools so they are safe, functional, and ready to work.
Follow workplace, jobsite, and trade safety requirements and practices.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Recognize hazards and speak up when something isn’t right.
