POSITION SUMMARY:The Water Safety Instructor I is responsible for teaching swim lessons to children at least 6 months old and adults according to Kroc Center Hawaii guidelines and enforce pool and safety rules and Kroc Center Hawaii policies to maintain a safe environment and member and guest satisfaction.
The Kroc Center Hawaii Water Safety Instructor I will have a deep commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, which will be evident in his or her professional life and the manner in which he or she represents The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in the community.
REQUIREDEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The candidate chosen for this position will have the ability to remain in the water ranging from 80-90 degrees for the duration of swim lessons (1-4 hours); support child weight in the water; recognize distressed swimmers and those needing assistance and provide the necessary aid and able to communicate verbally and loudly across distances. May also be required to run, swim, paddle and walk long distances;
