Internal range 21 – Steps 1-11 ($64,340.11 – $94,061.71);
External range 21 – Steps 1-4 ($64,340.11 – $73,256.59).
The internal salary range is used for applicants who are current NJ state employees with underlying classified status for promotional calculations. The external salary range is used for candidates who are not NJ state employees who meet the requirements below.

Position Overview
Residing in the Division of College Advancement, within the Office of Development, this position is responsible for a comprehensive fund-raising and community relations program targeted toward alumni, friends of the College, faculty, staff, retired employees, parents, corporations and foundations. The Office of Development handles fund-raising initiatives, an extensive events calendar, and a high level of customer service for related activities campus-wide.
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer and Campaign Manager for Development, this position provides administrative support for the Office of Development. TCNJ is committed to community engagement and partnerships with local leaders. This role supports Government & Community Relations and assists the Director of Community Relations in dealings with local officials and community groups.
Office of Development Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support:
Report to the Chief Development Officer and Campaign Manager; organize and implement administrative systems and procedures to support the CDO efficiently. - Answer phones, perform general office duties, process mail (including checks), record contributions, and notify gift officers of donations.
- Prepare comprehensive briefings including biographical information and meeting logistics for the CDO.
- Assist development staff with office needs; support Major Gift Officers, Annual Giving, and Corporate & Foundation Relations.
- Oversee daily office operations, purchasing and procurement, and coordinate meeting/event logistics.
- Maintain departmental databases and records; conduct research and prepare reports; produce both electronic and paper reports.
- Draft, edit, and finalize correspondence and materials; ensure professionalism and accuracy in communications.
Office of Government & Community Relations Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support:
Support the AVP and Director of Government & Community Relations; manage phones, mail, office operations, purchasing, and events logistics. - Handle expenses, pay bills, and reconcile departmental budgets.
- Assist in coordinating external scheduling between the AVP, Director, and external stakeholders.
Community Liaison
- Serve as liaison between the campus and external community partners; support planning committees for community events and campus initiatives.
Developing Reports
Compile biographical, financial and statistical information; provide background reports on prospects as needed for Development, Alumni Engagement, Community and Government Relations and Community Fest.
Event Planning
Organize and participate in department-directed events including Community Fest (chief organizer) and Alumni Weekend/Homecoming/Commencement.
Required- High school and college education.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail; ability to multi-task, work independently, take initiative, and collaborate with a multi-disciplined team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of constituent information, financial and academic records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
